Hawaii volcano: Aerial video shows smoke pouring from huge fissureFissures from Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano have been filmed spitting lava, as the US Geological Survey (USGS) issued a red alert which means an eruption is imminent. With hazardous activity both on the ground and in the air, residents have had to deal with volcanic gas and lava, as well as ash which has been blasted into the sky. Scientists say earthquakes may shake loose rocks underground and open up new tunnels for lava to flow.

Correlation between secondhand marijuana and tobacco smoke exposure and children ED visits

Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit substance in the US. Secondhand marijuana smoke (SHMS) exposure and its subsequent impact on child health have not been studied. The objective of this study was to determine association between SHMS exposure and rates of emergency department visitation, and rates of tobacco sensitive conditions (asthma, otitis media and viral respiratory infections).
