Across the country, cities like New York and Washington paid respects to the nearly 3,000 victims of the September 11th attacks, when terrorists flew planes into the Twin Towers in Manhattan, as well as the Pentagon.

Tribute in LightWorkers and volunteers gathered on Sept. 6 in downtown New York to test out the Tribute in Light, which honors the victims of the terrorist attacks in 2001 and celebrates New York’s unbreakable spirit. The 88 7,000-watt xenon light bulbs will be tested night for a few hours nightly until Sept. 11, when they will shine into sky all night.
