Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, unveiled what he claimed were documents which reveal Tehran covertly pursued nuclear weapons before signing a deal with world powers in 2015. The US secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, said the information showed Iran’s leaders lied to about a nuclear weapons programme known as “Project Amad”.
